My name is Alex Melcher, and I am a private drum instructor with 7 years of teaching experience. I have taught young beginners the basics of hand techniques and percussion studies to advanced drum set concepts and improvisation.
I have spent my musical career exploring many styles of playing, genres of music, and different ways of creating soundscapes for each particular musical situation. Styles I specialize in include rock, jazz, funk, R&B, Latin, blues, and classical.
Finding a teacher who you can relate with makes all the difference. With teaching, I strive to relate with students in new ways, basing my lessons on the student's strengths and personal interests.
