The job was to build a modular Pergola of Ipe wood with benches, 2 planters and removable bamboo roof panels on a 6th floor private roofdeck. . The pergola is a reproduction of an existing one on a 60th floor roofdeck in Chicago. Approval was required by the HOA and the city of Brookline. The vendor had to work through the approval and permitting process. Claudio was amazing. He immediately attacked the job with a professionalism and passion I have never seen in construction. The pergola is in Ipe wood.. The hardest wood there is. Claudio loves to work with wood and although Ipe can be difficult to work with he is able to handle it with no problems. Claudio's drive to perfection is unprecedented. He wants to do it right the first time and after consulting with me with the options he implements the solution without fail. During the process Claudio had many ideas how to make it better than the original and in the end it certainly was. Claudio says he builds his work like art and that his name lives on after he is gone. In this case I believe it will.. I could not have found a better person to do this job.

Claudio was hired to complete a number of tile projects on a rehab project. I have done a number of flips now and never had as bad an experience as I did with Claudio. He was extremely difficult to work with and the craftsmanship was below poor. On top of that, Claudio would not remedy his mistakes or take ownership and tried to blame it on every other worker there. His inability to pour a shower pan properly ended with me hiring another company to do it right and I ended up paying twice. Also had to replace the entire shower floor as he did not seal the tile properly and it corroded within 2 weeks. In the fireplace tile, there was extreme gaps that he told me looked "natural" (pics attached.) and the kitchen backsplash was extremely uneven and as soon as it was grouted, it stuck out like a sore thumb. Needless to say, Claudio was not willing to take responsibility. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Some pictures of his work are attached here. Terrible experience. Would never hire. Processing a small claims suit now.
