FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I study on my own, especially during wintertime as I have some extra time. the more you know the better. I study geology to know what different stones are and what I can expect to accomplish, I study Roman building practices as they have proven to have developed the most resistant and massive structures still standing today. For me it is a continuing improvement which only gets more complex as more comes to light.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was born In Florence Italy and attended the Istituto d'Arte di Firenze. where I studied art, design, geometry and architectural history (Egiptian, Greek, Roman, up to the Renaissance period). I always liked to work with my hands and stone masonry paired with my artistic background seemed a good choice and I will never regret it! I design a project on paper, then design it to real size, then complete it, than sit back and look at my accomplishment!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
From design, fabrication and construction with stone and brick. Building restoration with traditional lime putty and environmentally conscious construction practices. Koi pond and custom filtration design, construction and maintenance. Consultation and project management for masonry restoration and structural repairs.
