About this pro

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

What I love most about my job is the connection we forge and the opportunity to share in your successes. Hearing the stories of goals met and insights achieved is very gratifying to me as a teacher but also as a perpetual student of life myself.

Good variation in exercises, and adaptabilty to preferences/past injuries. Listened to goals and created a corresponding workout designed to get the best results in the shortest time. Overall a solid experience, recommended.

I know Tim is the right coach for me because I mentally curse him almost every day (to be fair, I'm also quite fond of him). I don't have any negative feedback, which makes this review less than helpful I suppose, but when I work well with someone I rarely find fault in their work because I can understand and respect their motives. Bottom line, Tim has inspired a marked improvement in my physical health & well-being and I'm grateful for his skills & expertise.

Instructions are giving clearly and try alternate different workouts to keep me excited. Be really patient and gives a lot of tension during my session. I'll definitely keep up with him.

Tim is a great motivator and knows when to push you further because he knows you can handle it.

I've practiced with Tim at the Broga studio in Somerville and attended a retreat where he held guided meditations. His classes were consistently amazing. The right blend of functional fitness and traditional yoga. He watches his students and makes the proper adjustments when needed and helps tailor the class for his students. He's starting a new morning class and I will actually rearrange my work schedule just to be able to catch that class.

I've been taking Broga classes with Tim since the beginning of the year, and his classes have become a part of my week that I look forward to. He has a very calm demeanor and and explains the poses very well for newcomers. I'm not a morning person at all, but I'd get up early to take his morning class. I recommend Tim very highly whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a free intro and assessment session where we get to know each other and decide if we are a good fit for your goals and my expertise.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a certified personal trainer through NASM, a certified Health Coach through IIN and a registered Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance. I'm always seeking out the latest in health and fitness trends and science. My BA in in English and my MA in is Ethnomusicology. For the MA I studied music and healing. Somewhat tangential, but not completely unrelated.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with clients and students aged 12 to 86. I've worked with retired professionals, corporate execs, stay-at-home moms and dads, teenagers, working class folks and people from many different countries. I've worked with high school and college athletes and people recovering from or working with injuries and chronic health conditions.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's all about connection and trust. We don't have to be best buddies. You need to be able to trust that your coach or teacher has what you need; even if you don't clearly know what that is yet. You need to know that they have your back and will encourage you in an appropriate way to reach your health goals.
