Marietta is an excellent piano teacher. She is currently working with our kids and has been very patient and very professional during the lessons. She likes to go back to the basics if needed and learn the right way rather than focusing on a number of songs.
The kids are enjoying their lessons and we look forward to the year ahead.

I have been taking piano lessons from Marietta since October 2014 at her studio in Watertown, MA. I am a thirty something year professional who decided to learn piano and have been looking for a piano teacher for a while until finally found Marietta on Thumbtack. Upon meeting her I realized that she is the one and my search is over.
Marietta is a highly professional piano teacher, she is patient with beginner students like me and very passionate about teaching. She has students at all ages and levels. She highly emphasizes on correct coordination and technique and make sure you have adopted the right hand skills before she moves on to the next lesson. She is very nice, supportive and approachable and you can always ask any questions you might have.
I live and work far from Watertown, but I think piano lessons with Marietta is totally worth the 15 mile commute.

I had a pleasant trial lesson with Marietta, gained useful and direct feedback on my areas of improvement. Her piano studio is just lovely. She is a great instructor, made good observations of my playing and has a calm positive vibe. I look forward to working with her, and to prep for her student recitals!

Marietta is a thoughtful and observant teacher who has helped me go beyond simply playing the notes on the page but rather give an actual performance, with solid technique and musicianship. She also has a warm personality and genuinely cares about her students.
I am a graduate student in my late 20's who at one point in my life was seriously studying violin but fell off the wagon when I started college. Recently, after many years of not playing any instrument, I wanted to bring musical performance back into my life, so I started teaching myself piano. I already know how to read music so I could teach myself how to play beginner and intermediate pieces, but I felt there was something missing in the way they sounded in my inexpert hands.
After trying out lessons with a few teachers, I chose Marietta because she immediately was able to notice problems with how I positioned my body, arms, and hands, and in more abstract things like how I was interpreting dynamics and phrasing the music, and how this connected to underlying problems of technique and mechanics. This type of instruction is ideal for an intermediate student like me.

Marietta is a wonderful instructor who is very knowlegeable and patient. I am very impressed with her teaching method as she is very thorough and instructive, especially when it comes to building good foundation and technique. She also has a great attitude and encourages me to get better and to explore my limits. Her love and passion for music really shows as every lesson has been fun so far and it's something that I look forward to every week. I couldn't have asked for anything more from a teacher. I would definitely recommend.
