Introduction: My name is Colin Carr. I am an experienced educator who has worked at numerous tutoring agencies, such as Boston Tutoring Services, Tutors for All and Tutor.com. I studied philosophy at Grinnell College where I received a 3.9 GPA. I specialize in English, language arts, reading comprehension and verbal reasoning. Having received a perfect score on the Verbal Reasoning section of the GRE, I have keen skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary and logic. I have worked with elementary school, middle school, high school, and college students in these areas. I have also done extensive math tutoring for students preparing for the SSAT, ISEE and SAT. I am available for homework help, test prep or writing tutoring. If you aren't happy with your first session, it's on the house.

Colin tutored my 11 year old son for his SSAT. Although my son was not so excited about the whole process, he always looked forward to working with Colin. My son told me that he hoped Colin was still tutoring when he had children as "he's a really good teacher". Colin was always on time and communicated well with us. My son did very well on the SSAT and got into the school of his choice, confirming that Colin had done a great job with him.

Colin worked with my son for the ISEE exam. Colin was extremely well-prepared, always available for extra work and suggestions between lessons and a pleasure to work with. My son did extremely well on the exam (a substantial advancement from the practice test) and was accepted at a number of highly competitive schools. I would recommend Colin without reservation.
