FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
ONLINE weekly lesson pricing - 30 minute lessons - $30 per lesson 45 minute lessons - $45 per lesson 1 hour lessons - $60 per lesson (In-person lessons are not possible right now due to COVID, but once we can go back, I offer in-person rates at different locations around Worcester that are comparable to these)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When we sit down for our first lesson, I like to do a little drum set tutorial with the new student. I will ask what goals they may have, and what level of experience they have had on the drums so far. Some students have specifics in mind, while others are interested in just having fun learning to be a drummer! For younger students, I will also have a quick conversation with their parents to get them on board to help facilitate a basic practice routine. (Parental support is very helpful for kids learning a new instrument.) I do typically ask students to buy a book to work out of. I like to teach out of the "Breaking It Down" book series by Kevin White. It's a very fun drum set book series, and it works for any age group. As an example lesson for your typical drum student: I'll generally get students doing a combination of basic drum rudiments, techniques, & coordination exercises from the book, as well as what I call "Listen & Play" lessons, where we will listen to a popular song and try to figure out the groove.
