FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My last name is Wood, so when I went to a vocational high school (in the '80s), they asked me what I wanted for a trade, I said "carpentry, I like wood".
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently had a customer that had another handyman do work for her and he over charged her and did not finish the work he quoted. she didn't want to hire me, but after about a 1/2 hr talking to me she signed a contract and I did the work the next day. after completing the job she was so happy she told her friends and I got two more jobs from a $150 repair. That what makes me proud of what I do, make one person happy and the referals just come in.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't take the cheapest (you get cheap work) Don't take the most expensive (they are charging you for thier advertising) There is plenty of middle range people that do this work that will take care of the customer first.
