Rob did an excellent job. Really pleased to have a very heavy antique mirror on the wall.
Steve did an outstanding job structurally repairing and matching the finish stain to provide us with a repaired wood furniture piece that looks as good as new! Highly recommend.....
Don did an great job of restoring a kitchen table that had been "abused" and that others had tried--unsuccessfully-- to re-finish and make look decent. Thanks to Don, the table now looks great and will continue in service for many years to come. I also appreciated Don's professionalism and promptness. Don's interaction with me was totally devoid of the high-strung, chuhuaua-like behavior that some of the responding furniture restorer personalities exhibited (a turn off). I would definitely hire Don in the future and would highly recommend his work to others.
Felix is prompt and easy to communicate with. Hes also a wonderful furniture restoration professional. Our company will certainly be using him for our future projects!
My kitchen cabinets are nearly 30 years old. Rather than replace them we decided to have the nicks and scratches refinished. Joe Johnston did a beautiful job at a reasonable price. He also fixed a significant scratch and crack on one of my bedroom nightstands. The repair is practically invisible! Joe was thorough and careful, using drop cloths on my kitchen floor and counters to protect the surfaces. Joe Johnston is the person to call if you have any type of furniture refinishing or restoration project.
I gave Carlos a very complex job of renovating a large antique Japanese tansu (a large chest). It involved removing all the (lots!, over 30 pieces) hardware, painting it black, repairing the locks that were frozen open, and reattaching each piece of hardware, finishing the front with Scotts Liquid Gold (rubbed in oil finish), painting top and sides, building a new back for the chest to enlarge it (antique chests commonly shrink on the sides) so that drawers that would not close now close beautifully. He was careful to plan the pickup and delivery with me so that I could reserve the freight elevator (high rise building). Overall a job done carefully and with careful communication to answer questions during the process.
I brought Craig three pieces of antique furniture to repair: my great-grandmother's Eastlake chair and side table, and an expanding table. I wish I had before pictures - all three pieces were badly scratched up. The expanding table had been previously repaired incorrectly, and had a wobbly leg. Craig restored each piece to its former beauty. I hope they will be pieces I can share with my grandchildren. Craig communicated clearly my options at each step - he gave his recommendation but was not pushy. He was committed to my project and took painstaking care to finish the details of these pieces in the correct way. Craig also helped me to coordinate an upholsterer for the chair. An overall excellent job by Craig. Four months later I am still fully satisfied. Thaddeus
Stephanie Jones is an incredibly talented designer. I've seen firsthand, Stephanie take a piece a furniture that most people (myself included) would deem "old" or "unusable" and refurbish and restore it to a beautiful, unique, work of art. She is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!
Finally! We found someone we can trust with our furniture. Steffen was quick to respond and came out to the house within 24 hours. His work is extraordinary and pricing is reasonable. Not only is he skilled at his craft but he shows a true appreciation for the furniture and how was made. Will definitely call on him again.
John did a fantastic job refinishing an antique desk for us! It involved disassembly, stripping and sanding existing finish (including intricate detail work), and application of new stain and finish. John sent us pictures of the desk throughout the refinishing process. We appreciate his strong work ethic, his kindness, and his commitment to restore beauty to every piece he works on. We will definitely be calling on him again for future work!

Sand Hill Antiques & Refinishing has been in business for 15 years I worked for the prior owner part time and purchased the business 7 years ago. I have seen other re-finishers work and inquired as to what products they use. I use commercial, professional products that cannot be purchased by hobbyist's. I apply at least 3 coats of lacquer as the final finish (protective).

I fell in love with an 18th century furniture and wanted to make a piece for myself, knowing that I couldn't afford one. So, I studied 18th century to modern furniture making, wood carving, upholstery and finishing all over the country. This led me into a career in furniture restoration.
