Rob assembled furniture + completed tv install and ran all of the wires within the wall.
My assumption is the average person doesn't know much about drywall repair. I say this because when you are quoted a price of a repair you will feel one way or the other about the quote. I would say that for what was paid I feel like I was "stealing" from Romberto based on the quality of work these guys completed. First of all the guys stated they would be on location at 7:30. They were here at 7:32. Based on where I live I will take that 10 times out of 10. Much better than a cable providers or appliance delivery that give you 2 - 4 hour windows and still show up late. They had their drop clothes and coverings to cover the furniture in the room. and they taped up all the surrounding areas to keep it clear and clean. The area of the repair was approximately 3' x 4' and than a separate fist sized hole. Entirely different types of repairs but these guys knocked it out with no problem. I will be hiring these guys again for any future jobs that I have. Thanks Romberto!!
We had steps installed and had a few loose pieces after about a month and John came back to fix them the next day. Quality work.
I had a tree that was mostly dead and falling apart that had electric and cable wires running through it. He climbed up, and working old school...dropped all of the branches without clipping the wires or doing any damage to the gutters or fences in my yard or my neighbor's yard. Did it all in a day, and hauled it all away. What more can you ask for ?
Tony and his team were terrific. They mounted our TV exactly how we wanted it and completely hid the wires. They were extremely professional and even brought their own vacuum to make sure the place was clean before they left it. We had a couple other small requests around the house that they didn't hesitate to help with. We'll definitely be calling on them again for more help around the house!
Beli is fantastic! Called in to open our very clogged kitchen sink, he worked diligently and professionally until it was finally open. We live in an old house with funky plumbing but that didn't deter Beli.He even made a trip to Home Depot to get a piece of equipment that finally did the job! And, although he spent much longer on the job than he had originally estimated, he never asked for a fee increase over the amount he quoted (we gladly gave him an additional amount--he more than earned it). All in all, very impressed with his competency, work ethic and integrity.
Herbert was great to work with. We had work on a few things for our office, handyman tasks including building a wooden frame to cover a bunch of wires, cutting a table, fixing a door, hanging few things. Our job was 2 days long. He arrived on time both days, the first day he went to home depot to buy some supplies we didnt have, kept the receipt, he was very honest about his costs and time. Proficient with his work and is very handy, easy to communicate with, nice guy. Will definitely work with him again!
He was very prompt and did a great job moving my Tv and remounting it and hiding the wires. He made sure all worked before he left and he even hung a small shelf for me to be cable box on. Thanks Chris !
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
My chimney cap came off and was damaged, bent, and misshapen. The cost to replace with a new one by the chimney co. was $300 for material only. Mr. Yellet basically rebuilt the cap by installing new wire screening, reshaping, and connecting all parts securely. The rebuilt is much better than the original and the labor and material cost a lot less than a new chimney cap (which didn't include labor).
Mr. Rosales framed and drywalled my laundry room, hiding numerous pipes and wires. This was done very nicely with beautiful results. He arrived on time and cleaned up the debris left at the end of every day. The project was completed in a timely manner and almost done!
Ricardo came to do several small repair projects in our home including hanging blinds, repairing a door, garage door work, hanging curtain rods, etc. He worked efficiently and was clean/organized. He came on time and was professional. He verified that we were satisfied with each job before moving to the next. Pricing was fair, he’s very responsive by phone and text, arrives on time and was very professional. He also seems to be skilled in many areas - plumbing, electric, painting/general contractor, and landscaping. He has given reasonable estimates for such work at my home and we plan on using him for more work which I’ll review once completed. It’s nice to have someone you can call for such a a wide variety of home needs.
Manuel and his team did a great job of getting our townhouse move-in ready including building a pantry, installing hardwood, refinishing hardwood in another area, patching drywall, painting, and replacing electrical outlets and an old fuse box. Manuel kept me informed of how the job was going via text while I was at work, and was very careful to make sure everything was as we wanted it. His prices were extremely reasonable and he and his team worked quickly so that we could move in on time.
Great experience. I got a quote for a lattice fence topper to stop my dog escaping. They showed me pictures of their work and they were able to start the job two days later. Came on time, job went well and excellent cleanup. Highly recommend.
As an interior designer I have worked with many contractors in the Alexandria/DC area. Gayland French is a joy to work with. He is very professional, has an experienced crew and stays on schedule! I always look forward to working with him. Gincy Carosi (Interiors)
Replaced my hot water heater with a new, more efficient model, and finished the drywall after adding several electrical outlets in my basement. Mr. Black was on time, very professional and finished the entire job on time. I will use his services again and would recommend Mr. Black to anyone whom needs general maintenance work.
Jason was the consummate professional. Knowledgeable, experienced, and well-equipped, Review Development did an outstanding job of building a fireplace mantle, wiring for electricity, cable and HDMI outlets, hanging a 55 inch TV and making custom built-in book shelves. We couldnât be happier with the work or the finished product.
Excellent service. Totally punctual, never have I had a handy man state a time and he actually arive within 5 mins of that time. He had the best quote by far. I highly reccommend John.
We had an outlet for a tv installed and two duplex outlets installed in a bathroom. Both were difficult installations since wiring had to go behind plasterboard. Work was completed in a fine, professional manor. We are very pleased with the result.
Carlos did such a great job with our bathroom. Not only did he do our bathroom but he also gave us a great deal on doing some electrical wiring for a house to be able to have an extra router to boost our internet signal. He also did the backsplash in my kitchen which I've been dying to do since we bought the house. The work is so beautiful everything he did. He also helped me figure out that are kitchen faucets were no good I they didn't even charge me for that. He does quality work for a fair price and he walked you through each step making you feel comfortable about what you are getting into. After he demolished our bathroom right away told us at the plumbing is bad and he could just do the bathroom the way it is. He said that he would rather do a quality job and make sure we have a beautiful bathroom along with the plumbing underneath. I gave him the okay and paid the extra cost to have the plumbing redone. Totally worth it the bathrooms amazing. For a long time where kitchen faucets weren't working well and we would hear the same thing that everything is fine but we would only get like drip of water from our kitchen faucet. The previous contractor who did our kitchen basically gave us bad faucets and that's why we had issues in the kitchen. Carlos determine that right away and told us exactly what we needed to do. I would highly recommend using him for all kinds of work in your house. He's very knowledgeable and dependable
Interconnect wired my house for Cat6, creating 6 total ports in 3 rooms of our house. Their work was impeccable with clean, well-labeled ports throughout the house. They worked efficiently and the entire process was seamless and professional from start-to-finish. I highly recommend Interconnect for any residential networking!
