Had an awesome first lesson. Max is a pleasure to work with.Jan 11, 2020Verified
Fantastic experience working with Max. My singing quality and range have been improved dramatically. His knowledge of technique and theory are insightful. Most importantly, he will be patient and work with you with different techniques until you can understand the lesson. Highly recommend.May 1, 2019Verified
Max is an excellent vocal teacher, vocal coach, and overall musician. I am a singer with 10 years of vocal training and performances at a wide range of venues, and was very impressed with how helpful the first lesson was. I plan to learn from him long-term as I continue to grow as a musician.Jan 24, 2019Verified
Max is a consummate professional. His grasp of theory and vocal knowledge is impressive. He listens intently, is nonjudgmental, instructs with care and caters lessons to your needs. I look forward to a long term coaching relationship.Jun 28, 2018Verified
Do your music a favor and HIRE MAX! His years of experience are evident in his ability to teach and expand your musical capabilities! I initially found Max to be a vocal coach. After a few engaging and successful lessons focused on singing, Max noticed from my questions I wanted to do more than sing. And lucky for me, Max has extensive knowledge in all areas of music. In addition to singing technique, we have spent the past few months working on: - Recording Techniques -DAW use -Music Theory -Piano Technique -Basics of How Sound Works -Ear Training I have yet to have a problem or question Max couldn't answer and convey with 100% clarity. He is easy to get in contact with and is willing to be flexible to ensure you get to experience one of his marvelous lessons each week. I will be working with Max for a long time to come and hope that you (reader of this review) will do your music a favor and HIRE MAX!!Nov 8, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? All private music lessons are priced as follows: $40/30 minutes $50/45 minutes $60/60 minutes
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I love meeting and working with new people! For music lessons, I advise considering a month to give it a serious try (although we'll make progress in the first lesson). I also strongly recommend booking 60 minute lessons, but am happy to accommodate a variety of financial and schedule situations. The first lesson is the “big picture” lesson. In addition to getting to know each other, we’ll do a general assessment, cover a few key concepts and overarching themes, and finish with a few exercises to take home to practice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a BA in Vocal Performance and have been performing and recording since childhood. In addition to voice, I’ve actively studied guitar, bass, trumpet, keyboard, percussion, and composition. Outside of music, I’ve studied Alexander Technique and Kung Fu, where I became an instructor. This training factors heavily into my integrated mind/body approach. I've been teaching music privately for over a decade.
