About
Our Founder has several decades of training experience as well as two Masters Degrees: Psychology/ Behavioral Medicine and Applied Animal Behavior/ Canine Ethology. Unlike other trainers, we do not break up Obedience into separate courses of "Basic" and "Advanced", but teach Obedience as one complete course; accomplished in 8-12 weeks on average and resulting in dogs that are calm, stable and reliable on or off leash in any environment or situation. Dogs trained in this fashion are attentive to the owner at all times regardless of distraction and imbued with a sense of responsibilty. The most gratifying aspect of our business is the resolution of misunderstanding of the nature of our dogs and their specific needs in our relationship with them. Watching both owner and dog realize a calm assurance and confidence in their partnership is an amazing process. Their resulting ability to go anywhere and really share companionship without the typical worries of the usual "bad" behaviors allows our clients to share all their time, anywhere with their dogs.

Jack Eagan is a dedicated, professional and skillful dog (people) trainer. He explains his methodology and his approach to training, shows you the skill, then observes you and provides helpful hints as to how to handle the dog. He is available by phone to answer questions and he will come to your house to offer very specific recommendations to train your dog to achieve the results you desire. I highly endorse his knowledge, skills, and abilities.

I first contacted Jack for behavioral consult to introduce a new dog into our family. I was very impressed by his expertise and knowledge of ethological-based training methods. I continued to train both of my dogs under his program. In addition, under his tuteledge, I became a certified obedience trainer for K-9 Kollege of Maryland. His method produces calm, attentive dogs unlike many of the other methods I have tried (e.g., treat and clicker training).

SOLD! I initially signed up with Jack for two main reasons: 1) he offers a money back LIFETIME guarantee on your dog and 2) he spent an hour on the phone explaining the process and why it works. Jack has a passion and knowledge for dogs and I am 100% confident he can help any owner and dog. Probably my favorite line is: “there is no such thing as drive thru dog training.” I will admit it takes work and patience but it’s completely worth it. So many of my friends have tried “cheaper and faster” routes only to have more issues with their pup. I used to be unable to walk Rory in public, open my door without him escaping, or even get him to stop barking or going crazy when someone or another dogs was within 100 feet of me. The other night I took him to the Airport and he did amazing! Jack is the best. Period. Dot.

My husband and I don't have enough good things to say about K-9 Kollege. The trainers have been able to help us with our adopted pups and their knowledge has been indispensable. We only wish we knew about them before bringing home our first rescue. Luckily the trainers stepped right in to help correct some concerning behaviors after having our first for just a few months. What was prob most enjoyable was getting to watch each pup grow progressively more confident. We've adopted 2 nervous dogs, both in different ways, and now we have 2 of the most confident and we'll trained dogs. We get compliments wherever we go on how well behave they are. They sure make our lives more enjoyable!

3 1/2 years ago, my husband and I got a Rottweiler puppy. I had wanted a Rott for the longest time and when I finally brought my puppy home I was so excited! After a couple weeks we noticed that she was beginning to show some signs of aggression. If we moved her while she was sleeping she would growl and bark and try to bite us. The thing that really made us realize we needed help was when my husband tried to take a bone from her and she buried her k9 tooth in his thumb. I contacted several trainers in the area but I didn't want the same old sit in a circle and love your puppy type of training. I wanted to know how I could help my dog become a better, happier dog. I got Jack's number for K9 Kollege through a friend of my mothers and I gave him a call. Within the first 5 minutes of our conversation I knew I found the right trainer. We started our training with Jack when our puppy was about 12 weeks old and by the end of our first session she was walking on the leash right by our side, not infront of us pulling like most dogs want to do. We trained with Jack for 12 weeks and because of that we now have the sweetest, happiest Rottweiler around. I owe all of it to Jack because he taught us how to teach our dog. He sets you up for success and there's no reason for failure when you train with him. Thanks for everything!
