Our upstairs AC unit quit working, and they came quickly. It took a little time for them to assess the situation, but it was a little complicated. They provided several solutions, including an expensive one that replaced the ultra-expensive Carrier thermostat, and a much less expensive solution that replaced that thermostat with a much less costly one, but one that works just as well for home heating and cooling, and has a better overall user interface. (As far as I can tell, the only thing missing from the Ecobee we had installed is that it may be a little more difficult for future HVAC maintenance to assess an issue, but even that is easily handled by opening up the air handler unit. Considering that every issue that we've had with the Carrier unit has resulted in a non-working thermostat, whether or not the thermostat needs to be replaced or not, I'm not even sure how good the Carrier thermostat is for assessing issues either. It seems Carrier communicating thermostats are just very expensive garbage.) All the pros that came to the house were fantastic. I will definitely go back to Nero in the future, including for routing maintenance.

This company always goes above and beyond. I’ve had them service 3 different units and each time they responded the same day and came out the same day. Julian sees to it that his customers know exactly what they are assessing and lets them know upfront what needs to be done. Their pricing is very fair and their work each time has been extremely thorough. The company even repaired the work of another shotty company that completely ruined one of the condensation pipes in the unit. I can’t recommend Nero’s enough. 5 stars

On one of hottest days of the year, my husband and I discovered that the fan on our condenser unit was not working...did I mention it was 90+ degrees #HOT. Anyhow, we initially requested service from another HVAC contractor but they failed to show up. In a panic, we turned to Thumbtack where we found Nero Heating/Cooling. While I did not get the gentleman's name, he was very quick to respond to request. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue, got the part the following day, and WE HAVE COOL AIR NOW! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are based on knowing the prices of the large companies and exactly how to save my customers time and money. I usually charge $59 for a diagnostic fee that is then credited towards the repair should you choose to go ahead with it. Since repairs vary in difficulty, time and solution it is hard to give a standard price for repair.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I start with a diagnostic fee and let all customers know I will diagnose and quote repair before completing repair should they choose to proceed.
