Introduction
Our Background New England Sound Services, Inc. (NESSI) is the next generation of TucsonGuitar.Com. We are offering guitar lessons in all styles to a limited roster of up to 20 students of all ages and experience levels in the Lewiston/Auburn area. Our guitar teacher has been playing guitar for 35 years and has been teaching for 28 years. Many of his students have gone on to forge professional careers of their own (Signals Midwest, Turkuaz, The Bottom Dollars, Kayla Silverman, The Skatastrophes, The Austin Bats). Others have enjoyed performing locally (Ocotillo Rain), and many others have learned how to personally enjoy their instruments more deeply. Other services we offer are equally important and include recording, mixing, and mastering, lessons in bass guitar, Pro Tools, songwriting, music theory, beatmaking, and composing for film. Sharing Our Passion We believe that students need to be taught according to their own interests and strengths. We've worked hard on developing the skills to be able to do this as this approach requires much more research, study, and practice than formulaic or traditional approaches. Please search and listen to the artists we've influenced and note the wide stylistic differences among them. This is the result of our philosophy colliding with the random personalities we've been lucky enough to have a relationship with, and we're proud to have taught-and learned from-all of them. Classes We offer private lessons only through June 15, 2023. We are considering group lessons after that if interest and logistics align. Our private lessons are priced at $25/half hour and $45/hour. Other services priced competitively according to client needs.

I always loved music but in all the lessons I took, teachers struggled to relate to my musical tastes. It was always 100% focussed on the theory. That all changed when I started taking guitar lessons from Ian. He has a unique teaching methodology that ensures the student learns the musical theory by playing music the student actually enjoys. It seems like such a simple idea but Ian tailored his teaching to my interests. In the process, I learned some pretty cool jams and also walked away with a much better understanding of the theory as compared to before I walked in. After Ian moved out of town, I never found a teacher with that same level of musical expertise and positive attitude. If you're considering taking guitar lessons, Ian is your guy!

Ian was my guitar teacher in Tucson and working with him brought back my love of playing music. Fun and laid back, but still held me to good habits. Would 100% recommend!

I took lessons with Ian for many months. I made so much progress as a musician working with him. He made learning theory, fun, and also funny, and in the context of songs that I really wanted to learn. I think what I appreciated most about those lessons was Ian‘s enthusiasm about the songs that I wanted to learn, whether he knew them or not. Ian has such skill as a musician, songwriter, and teacher of music, that he can help a student progress from any level they’re at.
