Introduction
I’m Bill Dodson, Portland Home Projects. As of June 2023 I am limiting my availability to occasional Saturday mornings for small jobs like furniture assembly and tv mounting in Portland. I’ve assembled all types of furniture for residential and commercial clients. And installations such as racks, bars, shelves, alarms, cabinets, and a barrel sauna recently. I’m very careful and I assemble with strength and durability in mind. I also design solutions if needed. I’m also tidy. Vaccinated, boostered 3x.

I have used Mr. Dodson’s services multiple times now to perform a number of different tasks at both my residence and my boat. My “mini-projects”, as mini-projects do, spanned many different trades/disciplines, and Mr. Dodson consistently applied his initiative, innovative, and problem solving skills to accomplish what has to be done. And, I like that he is careful to thoroughly understand your problem/project before and during his work in order to minimize misunderstandings!

Bill was on time, communicative, and very nice and friendly. He successfully put together some complicated furniture and helped out with some household work I couldn’t do on my own. He made sure to ask me before making furniture placement decisions. He was a wonderful and professional resource!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Furniture assembly pricing varies depending on number of parts, components, and complexity. I accept cash, Venmo, checks. PayPal & credit cards may incur a small processing fee.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I enjoy working with interesting people in Portland who tend to fall into one of these situations: -- People who are new to Portland and needs some help getting their apartment or house set up, functional, or meeting some suggestions from the home inspector. -- Owners of multi-unit buildings in Portland who have a list of smaller items that can be done a few at a time, perhaps on a weekly basis. -- Businesses and commercial offices who need furniture assembly or other one-time needs

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

In touring a new client’s home and compiling a shared work list I suggested shaker peg coat racks. Client liked this idea so I made two — one by front door and one at the back mud room. This was a good project for me, and made her home more usable and organized.
