Introduction: Our first lesson is free. This helps me learn about you and establish the best approach moving forward. In addition to owning a large sheet music library, I have perfect pitch, a skill that allows me to write out music as I'm listening to it. This allows me to customize the lesson to YOUR interests and YOUR goals. All of my new students fall into 3 categories: you’re a complete beginner, you’ve tried lessons on YouTube/music apps, or you’ve taken private lessons before and are looking to start back up. My approach is perfect for all three people, because I give you the feedback and hands on approach of private lessons, plus additional content to guide you between lessons (sheet music and personalized videos). Reach out for a free trial lesson today and let’s see what I can do for you.

Owen is my third guitar teacher, and by far the best. I work with professional musicians, although I am not a professional musician, and my improvement over the last ten months has been phenomenal. I have a High sense of personal satisfaction and capacity. I have already recommended him to personal friends, and haven’t lost a friend yet!

Owen first met my son three years ago when he was ten years old. They instantly hit it off and it’s been a beautiful process to watch. Owen is patient, authentic, passionate with an obvious love for music. He is a phenomenal teacher and continues to inspire and challenge my son with every lesson. Owen goes above and beyond answering questions from my curious kid. We couldn’t imagine a better fit.

Even though I have only been with Owen for about a month he is a great person and always brings a smile to each lesson. He is friendly with everyone and is easy to get to know him. He is the second guitar teacher I have had since I have been in the STRIVE U college program and I like him better then the other guitar teacher I found online last summer. Owen has been teaching me how to write songs and play more on my guitar, We have been just doing chords and no lyrics yet but can already see some change in the song writing skills. We just started learning down with the sickness on guitar a couple weeks ago. I like doing song writing one half and playing guitar the other half. I would love to learn how to play more songs on my guitar and learn harder chords slowly as it is hard for my fingers to stretch on the guitar on certain chords and I would like to be challenged a bit and have my hands be challenged as well. being in this music program for lessons is a lot of fun and I am glad I tried it out.

Owen is an AMAZING teacher. He is a spectacularly skilled guitarist as well as a gifted, patient, and responsive teacher. He has made such a difference in our son's interest in and approach to playing, and we are so grateful for Owen's influence. As a teacher, Owen consistently goes above and beyond in terms of providing inspiration, guidance, and resources. He is a master guitarist able to teach students of all skill-levels from beginner to professional. I give him my highest recommendation!!!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to give a free 30 minute consultation. This is a great way for me to break the ice with a new student. It also allows us to establish musical influences and goals so we can start working on a pass BEFORE you make your first investment.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a bachelors degree in music performance from the University of Southern Maine. I have been performing professionally for 13 years and teaching professionally for 10. I regularly performed in the bands that play jazz, blues, and rock, with the ability to perform country, classical, and many more!

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father was a professional guitarist. I grew up with the sounds of music in my house. I credit this environment for helping me understand music in a way that would be near impossible if I had any other way.
