Introduction: I'm a professional pianist and piano teacher based in Ann Abor, Michigan (I’m offering remote teaching as well). I had 10 years of teaching experience, my students are of different ages and backgrounds, I am a very responsible and passionate teacher.
I got both my bachelor's degree and master's degree at the Royal College of Music in London, and I am now currently doing my DMA (doctor in Musical Arts) at the University of Michigan. I'm from China, I used to studying piano with Yuan Ling, who was also Yuja Wang's first piano teacher in China. I understand how to build a strong fundation for piano learning and help students to cultivate their interests and love for music. I studied different methods to teach kids and adults, I have a thorough knowledge of enhancing student's techniques and musicianship, all levels of piano learners are welcome.

Jingjing operates from the premise that the musical composition illuminates the techniques required. I practice scales and exercises for finger strength, independence, and coordination. Yet they are in service of a higher order of musical expression, and not as mechanical repetitions in a vacuum. She provides delightful pieces to deconstruct and develop musicianship and technical mastery. My practice times during the week are mindful and efficient with clear goals. I am a beginning pianist, and I am always challenged but never overwhelmed.
Jingjings’s observations are honest, and what she prescribes are logical and insightful. Her style is friendly and collaborative, and she leaves enough room for me to explore my musical ideas. Her musical knowledge helps me see the compositional structure and how to unify the piece. My musicianship and technique continue to improve steadily in our weekly lessons via zoom. As a 20 year classical singer, Jingjing has what I observed in the best teachers. They have the ability to transmit their expertise and instill in their students particular qualities-musical self-awareness, imagination, and vision that is required to become a true artist. She has the tools and skills to effectively teach both inexperienced and more advanced students.
I currently use a good digital piano with weighted keys and hammer action due to living in an apartment. She is familiar with the digital pianos and their differences from acoustic pianos.

I’m a total beginner, I’ve studied with Jingjing for six months so far and I enjoyed learning with her very much. Jingjing is a very good teacher, her teaching is detailed, precise, with a lot of information. She always commented on my playing with positive attitude and I felt encouraged. She gave me a lot of interesting music to work on, and every lesson I feel like I have lots of new things to learn. Her point was clear and her demonstration amazed me every time! I would love to continue studying with Jingjing and I recommend her to everyone!

I've been working with Jingjing since September in preparation for auditions in the spring. She has an extremely refined knowledge of both technical and musical aspects of piano playing.
