My painting company provides a first rate experience with painters that know their craft. We are detail oriented towards the finer aspects. By prepping each job to exacting standards, they last for years down the road. We understand customers needs and visions and make that a reality. Clean and proficient you'll be amazed at our turn around to get each job done in very timely manner. I enjoy my job. That is because of what I call the "transformation". Turning a bland, sterile paint scheme into something warm, inclusive, inviting or vibrant. Or simply giving them a much needed coating on wood that's been neglected. Its comes down to customer satisfaction and being able to provide a service to them and getting a smile at the end of the job that I enjoy.See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What’s the best way to set up a consultation or an appointment with a painter during the COVID-19 pandemic?

To stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to use virtual tools for communication. If you’re hiring local interior and exterior painters, contact them to see if they’ll set up a video call to assess your project. During this call, they can get a feel for what needs to be done and may be able to give you a price quote.

Discuss potential plans and strategies for getting the work done safely. And ask whether they accept virtual or digital payments.

How can I find out if a painter is considered an essential COVID-19 service provider?

To figure out whether a painter is considered an essential service provider during the COVID-19 pandemic, visit your local jurisdiction or state’s government website for information.

The CISA website also provides a helpful resource: Identifying Critical Infrastructure During COVID-19. This page is intended for a national audience and includes 16 different categories of critical infrastructure sectors. Some jurisdictions follow CISA’s definitions of critical infrastructure, but not all of them do.

Can I use digital payments to pay for painting services?

Many painters accept digital payments through Venmo, Square Cash, Google Pay, PayPal, Zelle and others. Due to COVID-19, others may quickly adopt this technology to maintain social distancing practices and follow health recommendations.

Contact professionals beforehand to ensure they’re able to accept digital payments and continue to follow safety guidelines throughout your interactions. Compare local interior and exterior painters’ profiles to see which types of payments they accept.

Does a painter need to enter my home?

If you’re hiring an exterior painter, the painter will likely not need to enter your home. But for interior paint jobs, the painter will need to enter your home.

When talking to potential painters, discuss a strategy to make sure you and the painter(s) stay safe while they’re completing the job in your home. Or, you might want to discuss scheduling the paint job at a later date.

Do painters offer remote or virtual services?

Though painting has always been an in-person job, painters may be willing to offer some virtual help due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. If you come across painters’ profiles that state they offer remote services, message the painters to see what those services include.

How much value does painting add to a house?

Due to a lack of data available, it’s hard to say whether painting your home’s interior or exterior will increase its value. But there are some important things to keep in mind.

If you're thinking about selling your home, you might want to repaint areas that look especially worn, dull or chipped so your house looks fresh and new to potential buyers. On the other hand, it’s possible some potential buyers will repaint the home upon moving in. So if you have a limited budget, your money (and time) might be better invested in other types of home projects, such as remodeling your bathroom or kitchen, installing new floors or fixing broken appliances

When in doubt, check with your realtor before making a final decision.

How often should you paint your walls?

You should repaint your home interior once every few years, depending on the condition of the current paint.

Paint on walls fades over time, regardless of the room — it could happen in a bedroom, kitchen, dining room, living room or bathroom. However, paint that is exposed to more dirt, particularly flat or matte paint textures, may need repainting more frequently.

Areas of the bathroom or kitchen that routinely get touched may show signs of collecting dirt and grease over time. These would require more frequent painting.

If you're ready to repaint the walls in your home, get free estimates from the best painters near you.

How long does it take to paint a room?

The length of time it takes to paint a room varies, depending on a couple of factors. For example, the size of the job makes a difference. With a small bedroom, or with only a wall or two that have to be painted, the job can be done in half a day. Larger jobs take longer.

Also, if there are several different colors being used, the job may take longer, as one may have to dry before the other is applied. A 12-by-12 room with one color may take a morning. With multiple colors, the job may stretch into the afternoon.

Before you hire an interior painter near you, ask them how long it will take to paint the room(s) in your home.

Do you tip painters?

Yes, it’s best practice to tip house painters if you’re pleased with their work. Painters perform detailed, skilled work that can last for many years, if not decades.

Tipping house painters is good etiquette. You can base the tip on the size of the crew, and request the amount to be evenly divided. Or, you can leave a tip based on the size of the job and leave it up to the foreman to decide how it is distributed among the crew. Sometimes — especially with big projects — the painters on the job change during the course of the project, so it’s often customary to leave one tip for the whole job.

Tracy and her company are extremely professional and her employee, Manny is a "Picasso" when it comes to wall prep and painting! They fit us in when we desperately needed a rental home painted and turned out an absolutely top notch quality job. The price was fair. We are totally pleased and are happy to recommend them as a company you can be proud to do business with.

Tony helped us out in a pinch. We needed someone to count out and help remove ceiling tiles from our basement ceiling and then paint the ceiling and walls before we listed our home. He came out on a Sunday to give a quote, and then got the job done before 5pm on Wednesday! The paint job looks great and we appreciate the responsiveness and reliability. He went above and beyond!

Creative Painters Plus did an amazing job refinishing and painting a wall that I recently had drywalled in my basement due to water damage. They had to go back and refinish the wall that was not up to there standards. The contractor who hung the drywall did a poor job, thanks to them and their expertise it was finished properly. I would highly recommend them and plan on using them for my next painting project. Thank you again Creative Painters Plus! Leslie

Painted third bedroom used as a den. Made great suggestions (replacing all OLD hardware on doors which I didn't think about.) Great job, cleaned up well at end of each day.

BlueStar did a wonderful job painting the exterior of my home. They replaced all the rotted wood and took great care in caulking and refinishing everything before putting on the final coat. They were fast, friendly, reasonably priced and treated my house like it was their own. I would recommend them to anyone!

Roni and his team did an amazing job painting the siding and trim of my home. The project was completed on time and on budget. The quality of the work was fantastic and their attention to detail was very impressive. I didn't have to ask for touch ups on any areas, as Roni had beaten me to it. Great job, would recommend them to wholeheartedly.

Roni and his team are dedicated and hard-working. I hired them to paint the exterior of our house and they did an excellent job. I changed the job scope a few times and Roni was flexible and made sure that we received the desired outcome. I highly recommend USA Construction and look forward to hiring Roni and his team again in the future.

We're so happy we hired touch of paint. They repainted our cabinets and 2,100 sq ft top to bottom and did a fantastic job. I got quotes from 6 different companies and their price was more than fair. They were pleasant to work with and I felt confident they would do a great job...they exceeded my expectations. Thanks Heather and Steve!

We found Robert on Thumbtack to finish a job that had been poorly done by another painter who damaged our walls while removing wallpaper. Robert did a great job at a reasonable price. He and his helpers are professional, neat, and efficient. Job was completed in time frame quoted. No excuses, no extra charges, no complaints. He's a great person as well. You cannot go wrong with Freedom Painting.

Mary took the idea I had for a cute little growth chart in our laundry room and made it so much better than I had envisioned. She listened to what I wanted, presented me with options that perfectly captured what I had told her and also incorporated creative ideas that built upon the original design. She was able to work me into her schedule quickly— and the painting itself took one afternoon (and couldn’t be higher quality). I will hire her again and highly recommend her.
