While living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, my husband and I purchased our dream home in Detroit, Michigan. The crumbling 1927 Tudor home had sat vacant with a leaking roof for several years but still possessed endless potential. We knew that we needed to protect this historic home from another winter but without having even visited Detroit it would be a challenge to find a trusted roofer in this new city. After calling multiple roofing companies and feeling a lot of uncertainty I found Darnell from Walter-Alexander Roofing. He quickly returned my call, went to see the project in person, and spent as much time as I needed reviewing the details of the job. He was always reachable to answer my questions and remained patient with me, as I can be picky and a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to home restoration. In order to get this project started before it was too cold to roof, I had to trust this stranger some 1600 miles from us to start the project before our move to Detroit. Darnell adhered to his timeline and sent progress pictures throughout this challenging project, further instilling trust. By the time we arrived in Detroit our roof was completed with beautiful, skilled work. He even personally checked the entire yard with a magnetic device to ensure that our dogs could not be injured by stray roofing nails. I would strongly recommend Darnell and his team to anyone needing roofing work. He is honest, kind, and professional. Darnell has even helped us in our acclimation to Detroit, accepting the role of our personal Detroit guide!
