From the get go they were very responsive to get ahold of and explained everything. I had a menu on my mind and when he quoted me I couldn't believe the price we got for as much food were getting! I asked if they could set up a taste testing. We drove 3 hours to Grand Rapids to do so ( a fun day date!) We arrive at his old bar/resturant I believe that he uses as there cooking quarters/office "I think" don't quote me on that. Anyhow we arrive to this dimmed light setting and a table set up for two candle lit just for us two. They start us out with this amazing bread and oil. Then shortly after bringing each dish we discussed I wanted out to us. It was such a cute experience and the food was incredible! We chose a chicken and a salmon, red skin potatoes, mac and cheese, asparagus, mixed veggie, cherry salad! We had a tiny miscommunication on the serving time wanted 530 but they were ready by 5. It all worked out great in the end and no one knew the diff. It was our fault as well since we went a little longer on our photos as well. I got a lot of compliments on how good the food was. We did run out of Salmon I heard before everyone got served. But then I also heard the chicken was the best they ever had! All in all everything turned out great and perfect! They cleaned up and were out of there fast as well! It sure does go by in a flash! Everyone loved the bartenders they were a hoot! All the employees were so sweet to us too! So the only tiny things were not enough salmon and not enough table covers to cover all the food tables but I gotta say those were some tiny problems that didn't even phase me in the end. I would hire them again for sure.
I can't even begin to describe how delicious the food is! Always so flavorful! I wish I could cook like she does! Well worth giving them a call!
Elizabeth has cooked for me many times, and each meal was absolutely amazing! Her cooking is spectacular, and she is a master at accommodating clients with dietary issues (my husband has a number of severe allergies.) Elizabeth is easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgable of all things food-related and truly makes the most of a menu on a budget.
I wanted to say hello and let you know that both my brother-in-law and I have read your book now. I loved it all: the writing style and the recipes and the information. He was impressed with the information (which says a lot since he's a chef who has been working in the health food field for some time now, and experimenting himself with cultured foods). And I wanted to tell you again how much I enjoyed the food you prepared for us at Mark's B&B this summer. What a feast, at every meal. Truly inspirational. I've been doing more cooking myself as a result, but I'm not approaching the complexity and deep flavors of your meals quite yet. It was great getting to know you and sampling your cooking! Chef Joy was exceptional in all areas of the experience! Her friendly demeanor, her delicious food, and her going the extra mile to make sure our surprise dinner was perfect, is so appreciated! She came very prepared, didn't mind chatting or working quietly, and left the kitchen in perfect shape when she was done. I honestly felt like she was just there hanging out with us, while performing her incredible gift of cooking. I had the honor to work with Kat while working for a Specialty Grocer. Her knowledge of cheese is outstanding and is an expert in pairings. She taught me fantastic recipes using different cheeses and all from scratch. Her food presentation is first class and everything she makes will make your taste buds ask for more.

I have attended several classes and even went to the sessions on Heritage Food Day. While my favorite class, by far, was soap making (I felt like I was working in a lab!-Science is cool!); I use what I learned in the Pie Making Class much more (especially near holidays). I like the fact that she tells you, and can show you, how people a long time ago did things (like putting wax on top of jars whereas we use canning lids). Some of her classes come with snacks. I have developed an severe desire for her Summer Salsa. It is so delicious!
Alyssa is an excellent chef and is also adept at cooking for people with dietary restrictions. She is especially talented at using spices to make her meals delicious I have enjoyed every dish she's made for our family!
