Introduction: I believe that all students have an innate greatness, and through constant encouragement and positive reinforcement, they can achieve their goals.
I have extensive knowledge of the Michigan Department of Education Grade Level Competency Expectations (GLCES), as well as a host of techniques and exercises to explain them.
I began tutoring in 10th grade with the Wayne State Math Corps. Currently, I am a SES lead tutor with McCully's.
I traditionally provide bi-weekly progress reports with parental inclusion. In essence, progress reports are made of a two-column chart, on one side are the goals and on the other side are the achievements. There is also a section for ways parents/teachers can support learning.
I also specialize in "making work relevant"; many students are discouraged by work that they feel they won't use in "real-life." I provide real-world examples for concepts.
