Before contacting a teacher it's important to think about what you hope to accomplish with lessons. Do you aspire to play for personal enjoyment, preform in public, read music, and/or write music? After that you should think about which styles of music you are most interested in learning. Answering these questions for yourself first will make your first meeting with your new teacher very productive.
