My boyfriend wrote a piece and I asked August Strings to record it for our anniversary. I thought it was a strange request, but Mikhael said it was totally possible and made it all work out in time. Ryan and I both love it! The group was awesome.

We had August Strings play for our wedding ceremony. It was last minute and we had 3 different song requests yet they managed to make it all work beautifully! We couldn't be happier with our choice in using August Strings for our wedding.
August Strings's reply

August Strings performed for my wedding ceremony, and they did a wonderful job. The group was very punctual, arrived the time that was stated in the contract. They were very receptive to our musical tastes and were even willing to learn a couple of songs that we requested. Also the price that August Strings charged was very reasonable I would highly recommend.
August Strings's reply
Dear Kendall, Thank you for the review, we are glad you enjoyed the music. Congratulations on your wedding, we wish you all the best!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Different services have different price. Teaching: $40/hour Events: Price depends on the ensemble - we offer duo, trio, quartet options. Base price for an hour: Duo - $360 Trio - $510 Quartet - $660 Additional time - $60 musician/hour ($120 duo, $180 trio, $240 quartet) Music engraving services: flat rate - $5 per page (regular density - ~12 staff lines per page, portrait, no excessive markings) (other services include: preparing music for printing, creating audio files from sheet music, transpositions or arrangements). Music should be either in public domain, or you should be the rights owner.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Live music events: 1. Drafting contract, deposit fee request to secure the date. 2. Repertoire requests, event details, finalizing and signing the contract. 3. Follow ups as needed, or 1-2 weeks before the event. 4. Receiving the payment before or on the day of the event. 5. Clients enjoy our performance. Music lessons: 1. Meeting to discuss student's goals: Basically a free 30-minutes lesson to check student level, discuss instrument options if needed, create a short term plan and a schedule. 2. Lessons (45 or 60 minutes). Once or twice a week. In certain situations like audition or concert preparation we can have lessons more often. 3. Payment can be made at every lesson, per month, or per semester. Music engraving services: 1. Calculating approximate price of a job needed. 2. Deposit of 50% or $50, whichever is less. 3. Adjusting the price during the first days of work (in many cases, the flat rate is more expensive than the real amount of work needed, so we offer the price based on the actual work done) 4. Payment request after the job is done. Minor modifications included in price, major modifications will require additional payment.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Doctorate in Music Performance, 10+ years of professional orchestra, teaching, and chamber and solo performance experience.
