FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Coaching was a natural transition within my our personal and professional journey. After years of mentoring and coaching direct reports, peers, high school and college students, supervisors and managers, it was suggested that I become professionally trained as a coach. I have supervisory, management, and human resource experience and understand organization issues, as well as the hiring and training processes. I always have enjoyed seeing clients blend their current competencies and gifts with the potential of who they will be. I have taken all of my gifts, strengths, experience, and training to help others develop their strategic personal and professional plans. This is my opportunity to help others find fulfillment.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Value, time, and personal investment are important. Coaches should always offer a consultation prior to the client investing in their business. Ask yourself if you feel comfortable with the coach during that initial consultation and if they offer the one-on-one attention you seek. Do you feel that the coach will value you, your career, and your future? How much are you willing to invest in who you can be knowing what you find out in that consultation? Be open to the investment, as it is for you and you alone. If you value yourself and what you know you can be, why not value the investment of coaching support to help hold you accountable to get you there. The right coach should make it easy for you to answer those questions for your future.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Coaching is a personal investment in the client's future and what they want that future to be. It is about being and doing. Sometime we need support to hold us accountable and to challenge us, helping us navigate the steps to achieve. Most coaches have been trained and credentialed with an accredited coaching program. I went through CTI Co-Active Coaching. It is an intensive 120 hour in person training. Once I completed, I became credentialed tocoach.
