James and his crew did an amazing job painting the interior of our new house. James provided a detailed quote and called out areas that didnt need to be painted (certain ceilings and trim that were in good shape) to help us save costs. He and his team worked nights and the weekend to make sure the job was complete prior to the movers coming. I was impressed w his professionalism, transparency, and the quality of his work... and the kids love the the chalk walls in their rooms!Sep 23, 2019Verified
Ascend Painting did a phenomenal job painting the interior of my home. We called two other painting companies for estimates and Ascend Painting gave us the best quote. We immediately hired James and his crew. They were very precise in prepping and taking care of all the floors and wEre prompt to clean up anything as needed. They are professionals, show up on time, do a fantastic job and deliver high quality work. I am even planning on using them again to paint my mother’s home. I highly recommend Ascend Painting without hesitation. Thank you for the fantastic work!Oct 20, 2019Verified
Oct 22nd I contacted Ascend Painting and Renovations inquiring about a living room and family room walls/ceilings only and kitchen ceiling only. Mr. Sholtz contacted back and set an appointment for an estimate Oct 24th. He came out did measurements and at that time we explained to him that ALL we wanted painted was walls and ceilings. No trim no patch work (we drywalled our family room last week) no sanding just painting. That we were doing ALL prep work. My husband and I liked him. I then had to reach out to him Oct 25th to see if he had an estimate ready for us. He stated he worked a long day and he would get it to us that evening. I told him not to worry I understand that he was busy and to enjoy his evening and email tomorrow. After he sent us a quote we had couple questions because in his quote he estimated patch work, sanding, and prep work which he was not doing. So why would one pay for that when that’s not what was requested to be done. Sent two emails with no response which I did know he said he was doing a big job of textured ceilings but would be able to start our job Friday Nov 1st and complete it Saturday Nov 2nd. No communication after Oct 25th. Sent a texted through Thumbtack Oct 28th trying to touch base with Mr. Sholtz he said he sent an email I just never received one. Which okay things happen. It just went downhill from this point on. Never heard back from him Oct 31st I sent him a text message because he stated didn’t mind communicating that way. So I sent him a message “Good afternoon! We picked out our Sherwin Williams paint. The grey we would like on the walls.” Because at this point in the day we were thinking that information was important since it is a painting job. He responded with “Hi guys! We are looking at Saturday to start now if that is good for you? We’re finishing the interior painting in Livonia tomorrow. Hoped to finish today but the homeowner added a room.” I could understand that again things happen and come up. But..... never heard from him again. It is Saturday Nov 2nd at 6:00pm. I hope and will pray for Mr. Sholtz a speedy recovery! COMMUNICATION IS KEY. If you were able to check thumbtack now you should have been able to check thumbtack before now. Reply to Mr. Kenneth - Per Mr. Sholtz there was no deposit required if so there would have been one placed. Also no contract was signed because again there wasn't one given or offered. Nothing about deposit nor contract was ever mentioned. We have it in writing (text) when Mr. Sholtz was coming and would be finished by and that was Nov 1st and Nov 2nd. Then was moved too Nov 2nd (which the other job ran over understandable). Then never heard from anyone again until this response.Nov 4, 2019Verified
Ascend Painting Company LLC did a remarkable job painting the interior of my home in Farmington Hills! It looked completely different after James and his crew finished. James provided me digital before and after photos of the project from start to finish, which was so nice of him to do! They communicated with me every day throughout the painting process, helping me to decide colors, and giving me wonderful creative ideas. This is a great painting company.Jul 9, 2019
James did an awesome job in our kitchen. He removed a soffit and installed 2 hanging lights over the island as well as doing a terrific job painting. We just love his work and will be calling him back soon. We love the new fresh look in our home!Aug 12, 2019Verified
