FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No home is the same; no inspection will be the same. We usually charge between $250-$395 depending on complexity, and how much time we spend on site. We usually take as much time writing the report as we spend on site. We found that when we attempted to write a report on site, we missed a lot because we were more concerned with computer, than the house. We abandoned on site 15 years ago.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
No deal is the same. We have a infinite question policy; Please feel free to call and ask any question, any time. If I don't know the answer, I'll research and get the answer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been investing in properties since 1982, buying improving, renting, selling etc. Back in 1999 a local Realtor who was showing me some property said " You are so picky; you see stuff no one else does. You should become an inspector. " At that point I had looked at 40-50 properties and purchased a few. Our practice was to find a solid property with cosmetic problems. I later used this experience to become a licensed insurance adjuster. To augment my practical experience, I attended and became certified by American Home Inspector Training, Inc. We also became involved with ASHI, American Society of Home Inspectors, and the Michigan Association of Home Inspectors. As of this writing, we have looked at over 5000 properties, not including Insurance claim locations.
