My daughter came to Miss Debra with 3 years of violin lessons from 3 different teachers at a local music studio. Immediately, Miss Debra embraced the challenge of uncovering what my daughter knew and areas which had been neglected. By our second lesson, I already heard improvements in how my daughter played. I love Miss Debra's approach with her lessons. She focuses on my daughter's positives and gently corrects areas that need work. She makes learning super fun, and my daughter is excited to go back!
My 12 year old daughter had her 1st violin lesson with Ms. Stephanie. The instructor was great, very positive, kept it fun, interesting, and a great motivator. I would highly recommend her, and the GP Music Academy of Clinton Township even though based on just one lesson. I'm not a newbie to music/music instruction, so I feel this rating is well deserved.
Really talented musician, and really understands the cornerstone techniques that go into learning the violin. Would definitely recommend!
Cheryl filled in for my son Devereux’s lessons teacher while she was out getting cancer treatment for about 6 months and she did a great job working with Reux.
Katie is great and my son loves his violin lessons. Katie is very nice and patient with my son and I would certainly recommend her services. M. Hughes

David Rodgers has been teaching private music lessons for over 11 years. He tries to make lessons fun by encouraging students to choose their own songs and styles to learn. David is not a strict teacher, but he does remind students that no one else can practice their instruments for them. He teaches both out of his home in Oak Park and at students' homes. About the lessons: INSTRUMENTS: * Piano - Beginning to Advanced * Guitar - Beginning to Intermediate * Violin - Beginning to Intermediate * String Bass - Beginning to Intermediate METHOD BOOKS: David generally teaches piano from Alfred Method (both children's and adult versions) and guitar from Hal Leonard Method. He teaches violin and string bass from Essential Elements or All for Strings; however, he is open to choosing the method book you like or already have, or he will also teach without a method book.
