FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are a few different ways jobs can be priced. The most traditional way is a lump sum price which includes all labor and materials. Another way we price a project is to set a budget with the owner for the scope of work desired, all other costs are tracked on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and our fee is fixed. Finally, sometimes hourly is the best option for the owner on smaller projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For example, a customer wants their kitchen remodeled. First, I will come out to the home to meet with you and go over the scope of work and get a feel of the house and its conditions. Second, I will come out to field measure the kitchen. I will then provide an estimate and I will go over it with the owner. From that point, we can make any changes to the scope of work and then present a revised estimate. Once the estimate and scheduling is approved, we can go over any final paper work and then proceed with construction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Western Michigan University and graduated with a B.S in Construction Management. I worked in my father's architectural firm. Then I worked for a builder doing house renovations.
