- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a professional Fire Captain in the Duluth area. I have been crawling around houses in some capacity, weather it be in light construction, home/rental remodeling or when working as a fire fighter on scene for over 14 years. My knowledge of houses, my report writing skills and my experience working with the public made me a natural fit for this field.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Interview your inspector and be sure he/she is knowledgeable about their business, and be sure they can effectively communicate with you. Are they friendly and personable? Are they be able to answer your questions, or are they spending their time trying to get you to book the inspection? Is this a person with whom you think you can work with? These are some questions I would ask and be sure I am comfortable with before hiring my home inspector.
