I bought art lessons as a Christmas gift for my husband, who is self taught and lacks confidence in the quality of his work. I can't say enough about how pleased we are to have Danette Malerich of Malerich Arts as his instructor. Danette is professional, personable, passionate, thorough, very patient. She also provides a great balance between honest constructive criticism and encouragement, which is so important to any artist who is striving to perfect their skill. My skeptical husband enjoys his classes very much, and plans to continue his art education, and relationship, with Danette and Malerich Arts, by purchasing additional classes. This was definitely money well spent!

Michael was incredibly professional and prompt. We needed an artist to draw our menu in chalk paint and the final product was exactly what and how we wanted it.

I have been teaching art at many colleges and universities (The University of St. Katherine's and The College of Visual Arts in St Paul. Also, I have been teaching at the University of Minnesota for 10 years. I have been a professional artist for 25 years. While living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I worked with many individual artists to develop their unique direction, mentoring them to become more successful artists. My specialties are any type of painting or drawing, with a focus on the figure and developing artists' true visions.

Students often feel they cannot draw. These step-by-step art lessons will show even the most skeptical of talents that drawing can be easy and fun. By breaking the illustration down into simple steps, the children will be able to successfully follow along and create a wonderful drawing. Gary is an author and illustrator of 23 books, and his presentations provide a lot of artistic choices, mixed in with a good sense of humor. The students connect with this style of creativity, and everyone has fun developing their very own character with unique personalities. This builds self-confidence and allows children to explore talents that may have been hidden under a blanket of frustration. Program: Presentation and hands-on drawing exercises This presentation includes the step-by-step process involved in creating a cartoon character. Each child will participate in a 55-minute art lesson and will be delighted with their final drawing. Everyone will learn how to draw a cartoon character. Just like every artist, each drawing will be unique and will have an interesting personality. Program highlights: * How to create a cartoon character * Step-by-step drawing lessons * An autographed original illustration left with each class * Great for all ages * Up to 50 students per class Cost: $500 per day (maximum of 5 presentations per day), plus 50 cents per mile
