FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $25 for a 30 min lesson, and $40 for an hour. If you want lessons at your house I just add an extra for gas/time based on distance. I also do remote Zoom Lessons I mostly just teach weekly lessons, partially because I've found that students tend not to practice as much when they have 2 weeks in between lessons. Also if you are just starting out, you'll probably go home and practice and eventually get confused by something. If you have to wait 2 weeks then you wont be sure what to practice and you might practice it wrong. If you wanted to just do one or two lessons every now and again because you aren't a beginner that's totally cool too.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson is all about getting to know each other and figure out your skill level. I also want to learn your goals so I can help you get to where you want to be. I always have my lessons centered around whatever the student wants to learn. We might learn some of your favorite songs, or figure out that really cool fill you heard. On top of that, I try to challenge my students and give them things that they're not used to, or go outside their box, so to speak. We'll also talk about music theory because It's highly valuable and not as difficult as one might think.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Mainstreet School of performing arts in Hopkins and Perpich Arts High in Golden Valley. I then went on to study at Mcnally Smith College of music where I received The Marv Dalghren Scholarship for Excellence in Percussion, an Award given to in coming Performance majors. I also have worked for various different Lessons studios around the city through out the years. right now I'm currently working for School of Rock as an Instructor and show director and I work at A. Kopp Music as just an Instructor
