Michael May is the best music teacher I have ever had, and I have had some very good ones. He is able to relate to where-ever his students are coming from and adapt his lessons to suit each student exactly. His musical intelligence is out of sight (and again I have known and worked with many, many good musicians as a singer). i really can not recommend him highly enough. He is a gem and we are very lucky to have him in the Twin Cities. With his work ethic and incredible musicality he could easily compete in a market like New York City or Chicago, but he is a family man and his family is here. That makes us the lucky ones. I am proud and happy to recommend him to anyone looking for music instruction.

I've been playing for 25 years and Mike has completely taken my playing to whole new level. His approach to guitar is more about feel and getting what's in your head to the fretboard but mixes in a perfect amount of theory too. He's a great guy and an outstanding teacher.

Michael is a wonderful teacher! He has taught my son guitar for two years, and my son has improved tremendously -- he is now in his high school's top jazz band. He has gained so much knowledge about jazz theory and music in general from Michael, and he is always eager to go to his lessons (and that's rare!).
