Spaces of Comfort
What do you love about your job?
I love working with clients who have no idea what they want, except to see something different. I love doing careful interviews for me to come up with a plan that is beautiful, as well as functional and way beyond their expectations. The comment I get most of the time is, "I never would have thought of that, but I love it!" I truly love finding great ways to save my clients' money while still giving them great quality.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
I guess I inspired myself. After working on showroom floors and helping clients put together their spaces, with success and wonderful feedback, I decided that I would have more freedom, in terms of resources, if I worked independently.
Describe your most memorable project.
They are all memorable in their own way, but one of the most memorable project was a completely empty nine-room house that I was hired to do from top to bottom. Two days after, the clients closed on the property.
We started in the beginning of June and had to be done by Christmas. This was a lake home and not their primary residence. The client wanted it to be comfortable, will not have "a cabin" feel and need to accommodate many guests at different times.
It was a fun project. The best part was when she asked me to do the largest guest room, which was going to be for her son- and daughter-in-law plus the new baby, so that they would never want to leave. Everything was in place by Christmas Eve. Two weeks later, her son called me to thank me for giving them such a beautiful room and they had, in fact, extended their stay!
