Come in for a free try-out lesson to see if I'm the right piano teacher for you! Students of all ages (5+), late beginner level and up, are welcome. Lessons are tailored to fit each student's individual wants and needs.
Background and experience:
I am piano faculty at Normandale Community College and hold a doctorate degree in piano performance from the University of Minnesota, where I held a lecturer position in Piano Pedagogy until the summer of 2015 as well. I have taught over 500 students from beginner to music major, in both private and class settings, between the ages of 4 and 81. I also maintain an active performance career, both as a soloist and chamber musician.
What you can expect:
I am a compassionate, enthusiastic, and approachable teacher. Recurring qualities that my students have highlighted in their evaluations are patience, well preparedness, and engaging teaching methods that are rich in demonstration and invite the student to think "outside of the box."
