I have been taking lessons from Jim for about 6 months. He not only teaches how to play, he is also very good at explaining the concepts behind what he is teaching. He is an excellent piano teacher and I would highly recommend him to all - whether beginner or more accomplished player.

Jim is a great teacher with a very pleasant teaching style. I took pianolessons as a kid (forced by parents) and hesitantly decided to pick things back up as an adult. I'm in my 9th week. Jim is very patient and understanding of those hectic work weeks when there's not a lot of practice time in between lessons. We go at my own pace with no pressure to be perfect each week (I got that a lot as a kid) and I'm getting a lot out of each weekly lesson. I look forward to practicing on my own at home because the music selections are fun and well-known. I also think he's very reasonably priced too given his extensive musical background. It's a real bargain!

Jim is a great teacher. He's very skilled and accomplished (I was surprised my daughter could be taught by a former university professor!), yet very patient with beginning students. He's also very willing to move the schedule around as things come up. My daughter has a great foundation in piano and now in reading music as well, thanks to Jim!

I am enjoying my pianolessons a great deal. James is helping me establish my own plan, learning at my own rate. He is always ready for me when I get to his house and has a beautiful grand piano that I enjoyed playing.
