THE GOOD: The paint quality is fantastic – I’ve painted walls myself before and there is a very clear difference in how professional the work looks. They painted our fireplace and I get many compliments on how amazing it looks. They crew was very nice – we were moving in the midst of the painting happening and they were great about it. Jerry, the owner, is 100% focused on customer service. He listened to what I wanted, gave advice that saved me money (against painting the trim), and responded immediately to any concern that I had. There were some issues (see below), but he did as much as he possibly could to make things right. He didn’t try to deflect responsibility and was committed to making Bryan & I as happy as we could be given the issues we faced. He was responsive and he was there in person to address issues. He fixed what he could personally, brought his crew in to show them what was wrong, paid for a carpet cleaner, and gave us a discount to replace carpet that couldn’t be fixed.
THE BAD: As alluded to, there was paint on the carpet in some rooms. Most of the rooms were fixed to our satisfaction (although some still aren’t perfect but it was in rooms with white carpet that were inevitably going to get ruined anyway!). The spills seemed to happen the last day in a rush to finish the job that had been delayed – until the last day things were great. In one room the paint set-in to the carpet too long and cannot be removed, so we will have to replace the carpet (and got a discount from Jerry to cover the cost). In the rush to finish they also got paint on cabinets/wood floors (Jerry fixed), they broke a vent cover (we can fix) and they broke a switch plate cover (Jerry replaced). The other slight frustration – Jerry and I had discussed having them focus on the main floor and finish the upper level after we moved-in if necessary. They main floor was the key to finish before we moved and they had 5 days to do this. They did not follow this order. I know Jerry spoke to them several times and tried to communicate this; but the room we wanted done first was actually the last one finished. As stated several times, Jerry did as much as he could to make things right for us.
Despite the issues I still give them 4 stars for the quality of work and for Jerry’s commitment to customer service. It was still a bit frustrating to have to deal with the issues; but I do believe we are the exception to how most of his jobs go!
