Lynn has been our older daughters piano teacher for ~2 years now. Not knowing much about pianos (or being musically inclined), she guided my wife and I with the purchase of our first piano. I usually sit in on the lessons; one trait I highly admire is Lynns patience with kids. Her teaching approach is methodical, with a strong emphasis on note reading and theory, yet making it fun for the student. Our daughter really enjoys her weekly classes and the recitals Lynn organizes for her students twice a year.
We cant wait to get Lynn instructing our younger daughter (Now ~3 years old). We highly recommend her to anyone who has children with an interest on learning to play the piano!

Lynn established a good rapport with my daughter right away and she seems to enjoy children very much. As a piano instructor, she has the whole picture of the child and their musical skills in mind, as she has them work with a metronome early on, learn to read notes, do theory work, and gain confidence. It helps my daughter that Lynn allows some say in what pieces she will work on. She helps us make piano work in our busy schedule.

Lynn Stonehocker is truly an outstanding teacher!!! I love her enthusiasm and total dedication to her artistry and teaching. My daughters have loved working with Lynn - not only for her music lessons, but also the character and life lessons that she also imparts to them. We only wish she was teaching at the college that they will be attending in the fall.
