What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New customers come to my home..where we discuss the available lesson times, music books, and show them my studio. If they've played the piano before, I'll have them play a piece for me to assess their level. We discuss makeup policies and recitals.

Music major at Gustavus Adolphus College. Jazz Piano lessons in Phoenix Arizona.

$100 per month due on the 1st lesson of the month. This is based on 4 weekly lessons of 1/2 hour duration.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I taught while I was at Gustavus. There was a program for local St. Peter children.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Everything from strict parents to those who just wanted their kids to be in every kind of after school activity.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't set a time goal (like, We'll try this for a year) rather, set your sights on a certain piano piece your child must master and at that time reassess whether you want to continue or not.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Discuss makeup policies, recital requirements, experience with ADD/ADHD students, whether parents can sit in the same room for lessons, cancellation policies. Also, I highly recommend you have the teacher perform on the piano for you.
