Introduction: I have specialized in treating youth for the past 10 years. I have training in Experiential Play Therapy, using Norton's model. This allows me to use the metaphorical meaning inherent in toys to help children know I understand their story, put words to it, and help them move through the healing process in the safety of metaphor. Children learn and heal through experiential process vs. cognitive process, so toys are a great method to help them in the therapy process. I provide a toy room specifically for play therapy. I also enjoy working with teenagers and young adults. These developmental years are made easier with the support of an adult who can listen, empathize, gently guide, and support as you learn and grow. I enjoy helping families manage the emancipation process and launch their children with success. I love my job! I get to personally witness people's stories and help them navigate the process of healing, learning, and growing. I am truly amazed at people's inherent ability to grow and change, and enjoy being able to provide a nurturing, supportive, and comfortable space for them to use during their growth.
