It was worth every penny hiring Rent A vet movers to move our furniture. We just had them move our big stuff to our new home. They were professional, quick and courteous. They even came in and wrapped all of our furniture and made sure to show me all scratches and dings before moving. They even moved our beast of a fold-out sofa out of our tiny apartment with tight corners. I do wish I would have received a confirmation call a day or two in advance just for my own peace of mind since I scheduled this a few weeks in advance. Otherwise, It was a very pleasant experience working with Rent A Vet

It was so easy to set up a time for our move and Cartan arrived bright and early at 7am and right on time which I really appreciated so we could get a jump start on our move. Cartan and his teammate moved 3 couches, chair/ottoman, coffee table and a kitchen table. This was a short move because we were only moving down the hall, but everything was moved with care and everything was done at a great pace! I would recommend Cartan for any future moves.

I had a bench, a desk, a dresser, and a sofa that needed to be moved. I needed to move the furniture quickly and didn't have a safe way to do so. I did a google search and discovered bellhops.com through thumbtack. The only thing that made me wonder was the scheduling. I had an issue where I talked to someone and they said a 3:00 position was open. I called to take that spot and they said it was already full. I didn't think anything about that and took a 5:00 spot. They sent me a confirmation email about this and then said that spot was taken too. They were able to get me in at 10am. I know a lot of this is my fault because I scheduled so close to the moving day but it worried me about how their service would be. I was pleasantly surprised when the first gentleman arrived 10 minutes early. He clocked in, which they sent me a text confirming the time, and got straight to work. The second gentleman came at 9:59. The company has a section on the confirmation email asking if the workers showed up on time. It seems like they really want to please the customers. They both introduced themselves and asked about what needed to be accomplished. They were careful with my items and did a great job of loading it onto the truck. One thing I liked was they sent an introductory email of the workers so I knew who to expect at my door. It made the whole experience a little easier. They also sent an email to confirm the time that the workers left at the end. I think one of them forgot to clock out which messed up the amount of time it said they were there. The company was great and fixed the issue right away. I am completely satisfied with my experience. I would recommend them in the future!

This team came on a last minute call when another moving team from a different company failed to show up. Very professional hard working team. Very polite and made all the stresses of what I was going to do to get moved a breeze. Very highly recommended!

If you're looking for quality service at a very fair price, look no further! I was moving out of a situation where I thought I had some larger furniture to be disposed of. Little did I know that I was going to encounter an absolute mess. Other people and companies would have just said no, but there's a reason this company is called Mr. Dependable. With a total sense of urgency work removing junk and cleaning up an absolute mess began that same evening; I wish I had taken before and after pictures that I could post to show what an absolutely remarkable job it was! The results blew my mind, quick and thorough. Please, do yourself a favor, look at your options if you want, but in the end let Mr. Dependable take care of you!

Made about 10 calls at 9 pm cst to different companies on a Wednesday night. Adrian was the first to respond, and was the only one who responded the night of the call. He said he could have his men at my residence by 8 am, as I was in a bind and needed some heavy lifting done ASAP. They showed up right on time, and went above and beyond to get the job done. Not only that, but his rate was AT LEAST 50% cheaper than any other company I had quotes from. In short, Quality 1 Movers was the fastest, cheapest, and most responsive company I have dealt with since moving to the St. Louis area. They will not only be my company to use for all future moves, but will also be my recommendation to friends in the area. A+ rating overall.

These guys were great to work with. To be frank, I was a little nervous about what I was going to get by going with a mom & pop moving company, opposed to one of the big name companies. But they were affordable, reliable and considerate. It was definitely a steal and helped make our moving day go much more smoothly than anticipated. I cannot recommend these guys enough and will be sure to use them again when we move next.

Two guys showed up to help move stuff out of my storage unit to a moving truck. They worked hard and didn't slack off to run up the time. A few things did break moving stuff from the unit to the truck, but the damages were able to be hidden when I set up at the new place. I guess a few things getting broken on moving day is expected though. All in all, if you want a team of strong dudes to move your stuff, that will work hard, and listen to directions - this is your team. If I need stuff moved in STL, I'll deffintly hire these guys again.

July 6th at 5:30 PM our "Major Van Lines" backed out on us and left us high and dry. I reached out to Thumbtack and they matched us with Great Nation Moving. Rose took our call at 9:00 pm on a Friday after we could not get anyone for two hours to respond. She worked diligently to get us picked up the next morning and out of our home so the new owners could take occupancy. Mario was our driver and his crew was amazing, they arrived in a new 18 wheeler moving truck with Great Nation Moving logo. The crew members were in uniform, polite and extremely good at packing and protecting all our furniture. The logistics team called us to let us know that our belongings would be arriving on July 10th in Salt Lake City, Utah. I cannot stress enough the gratitude we have for a professional smaller company coming to pack and load us in one day, drive for two days and deliver us when the "BIG BOYS FAILED.

I ordered a move for my family through this company. I was moving to Belleville metro from the countryside in Oakdale. Quinn's crew arrived on time and did the move without problems. I would have to rate this a great moving company. I'm currently having them do some handyman work in my new house and can't wait for my newly tiled bathroom!

    What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

    • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
    • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
    • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
    • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
    • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.
