I walked in today after a long day at work and told Melissa that I must have done something right to deserve her! My fridge was full of delicious healthy meals and other food that I didn't have to shop for. She has cooked for our family of four for 8 months now, and I cannot imagine life without her. Our meals are prepared as healthy as they can be, using as much local, organic produce as possible. She is awesome at breakfasts, lunches, dinners (especially steaks!) and desserts when we splurge and have her make one. We physically feel better eating her healthy cooking, and she is very knowledgeable about how to make that individualized. She also is quick to figure out our tastes--she has us "down pat" and can predict what new foods we will like and not like! She has also become a family friend. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?For Weekly Meal prep Clients: I charge either a flat rate if the job is ongoing and similar week to week (number of meals and portions is generally the same) plus groceries; or I charge $35/hourly, plus groceries if the menu changes drastically. For Private cooking lessons- I charge $100 per person. Recurring lessons are on a TBD basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to meet with a new client, either on the phone or in person, and have a conversation about who they are and what they are looking for, as well as them learn about me. If they decide to go forward with becoming a client, then we set it up from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been a professional chef since 2006, working myself around the country, learning all types of regional cuisines. I spent many, many years in the restaurant industry, and decided that real satisfaction came from the private world. I have a Culinary Degree from San Francisco, as well as a strong background in catering/private chef positions.
