Introduction: Hey guys, my name is Sean Lynch. My experience teaching of 12 years offers you individualized lessons plans covering improvisation, a strong rhythmic foundation and an emphasis on learning tunes and repertoire with specific techniques. I’d love to help get you to the next level in your playing, whether you are just a beginner or an advanced student looking to become a professional. Looking forward to working with you! A little about my background: Many of my students have gone on into college programs and I regularly clinic the jazz band at Santa Monica Community College. I won the national TAW competition playing with U-TUBES ensemble in 2017. My students describe me as enthusiastic, inspiring and passionate. I acquired my bachelors degree in drum set performance from the prestigious University of North Texas in 2020. I have a huge heart for teaching and connecting with my students on an individual level. I love lessons with Sean! Sean is always upbeat and fun to work with, really knows his stuff, and has tremendous passion for drums, jazz, and teaching. I am a musician myself but a classical one, and I love the way Sean explains drum technique and jazz in a way that meets my beginner drum technique as well as classical training. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher, whether a newbie or experienced!

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Sean going on for 3 years. We started in person and now we are remote. He is so patient and so encouraging. He really is exceptional at teaching. He allows my daughter the guidance, knowledge and creativity that she needs. She looks forward to her lesson every week. He definitely inspires her to be a better musician and to focus and be patient. She decided a few months ago to start the drums and now she does both. He is equally as good at drums. We highly recommend working with Sean!
