Chef Sara was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She was extremely responsive and was happy to communicate in whatever way was easiest for me. She provided wonderful suggestions and adapted the menu based on my preferences easily. Even the day of when some things had to be altered, it was no problem and she shifted easily on the spot. Working with her was amazing, but that also doesn’t even compare to how delicious all of the food was. My guests were all raving about how great everything tasted the next day. every course was delicious! Also, the kitchen was extremely clean and everything back in its place when completed. I absolutely would recommend her to everyone.

For Christmas my husband gave me a dinner party with our oldest and dearest friends for which I did not have to cook! He gave me a private chef!
Hubby did all the research and found Sara and Chris Cox all on his own. The only thing I did was collaborate on the menu and what sort of serving and dishware I would provide and what they might need to bring (small soup bowls.) Sara was always responsive and accommodating -- I felt quite pampered! Hubby and I got to have the fun of getting the Christmas decorations ready, setting the table and chilling the wine.
Chef Chris arrived about 75 minutes before our first guests and I enjoyed watching him set up in my kitchen. He made himself right at home and quickly found what he needed in the way of my equipment. He was friendly and charming and was happy to let me sit at the island and watch him making preparations and asking him questions. I love to cook so watching him work was part of my fun.
Once our guests arrived around 6:15 Chris worked quietly in my kitchen while the 8 of us had a cocktail and visited. He served us pretty little appetizers in the great room and they were perfect, delicious savory first bites.
We had agreed on dinner at 7 and at 7 he invited us to go to the dining room and served the first of four courses - a luscious lobster bisque. This was followed by their signature Caesar salad with fried capers and prosciutto. Our main course was pork tenderloin with a slightly spicy rub, served over yellow corn grits and hericot verts with a fruit chutney. I cannot tell you how delicious this was without overusing the word "delicious."
We finished the meal with miniature toffee bundt cakes with caramel sauce and coffee.
Dinner was leisurely and relaxed, beautiful and fresh, and everything was absolutely perfectly delicious! Our guests raved. And when Chris said goodnight and left my kitchen was absolutely spotless!
It was a joyous was to begin our holiday celebrations and a unique experience we will always remember.

The evening went fantastic and even better than I had envisioned. A guest list that started at 85 grew to over 130; they grew their menu with our guest list. I got rave reviews from all the guests. You just can’t go wrong with Sara and her cooking, it’s that simple. Thank you Sara for making the hard part of my husband’s 60th surprise party the easiest part for me in the whole process. Cheers!

Working with Chef Cox & Co. was a fantastic experience. Communication was quick and accurate. The menu choices were exciting. They showed up on time, prepared a delicious 4-course dinner for 16 people and when they left my kitchen looked as if they had never even been there! They easily worked around dietary restrictions and were friendly & easy to work with. I highly recommend using them!

Chef Sara and her husband were fantastic!! They helped us plan the menu for 75 people for a birthday party. The appetizers and cake they made were outstanding. We received many compliments from our guests about how great the food was!! They were on time, cleaned up the kitchen afterwards and were very responsive to any questions we had!! If you’re going to use a caterer use chef Sara and her husband Chris!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on the number of guests, menu + style of service.
Appetizer + Hors D'ouevre events we offer Full Service or Delivery + Set Up.
Coursed Dinners are Full Service.
Buffet Style Events are Full Service or Delivery + Set Up.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We love to connect over the phone or via e-mail to get a good sense of what our clients are looking for. Once we have that initial conversation, Chef Sara will send over a menu proposal for clients to choose from. Once the quote has been sent we require a deposit to secure the date and to remove it from our booking calendar. Final payment for the balance due is taken day of the event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College in Birmingham, Alabama.
I have over 20 years experience in the Food Service Industry where I have worked as an Executive Chef, Pastry Chef, Chef Instructor, Personal Chef to the Anheuser Busch Family and Research & Development Chef for Bon Appetit at Washington University.
I have a wide range of Culinary background and am able to prepare almost any cuisine as well as a myriad of pastries, specialty cakes and desserts.
