Yanming is a great teacher. We started lessons fir our son who is very bright but lacks motivation to perform to his abilities. Yanming quickly identified gaps in his knowledge and has made significant progress in just four lessons. We are taking online lessons and it works great - I would highly recommend Yanming to anyone looking for a great math teacher.
My son needed a lot of help with both the SAT and the ACT. Arbor Tutors really came through. Perfect 36 on the math section of the ACT.
My daughter had one lesson so far. But we were able to meet him before the lesson to make sure that they would be able to work well together. He was extremely professional, and he was able to modify the lessons for appropriate tutoring.
James did a amazing job I raised my act score so much and he gave me the one on one help I needed in my math class. James is awesome!
Mr. Bob Johnson was a superb tutor! He is kind, professional, enthusiastic and dedicated. We highly recommend him. Thank you, again, Bob, for your excellent tutoring sessions. Our daughter said, repeatedly, how nice/kind you are!
George has a special ability to explain and simplify even very difficult concepts both in MATH and SCIENCE. Furthermore, if needed he provides variety of examples creating deep understanding of problem and knowledge you never forget.
Hugh is a nice young man. He is hard working and really understands math and computer programming. He has tutored in college, and has worked for me on his computer for Science Olympiad.
Efrem is a experienced teacher and tutor, he got 10+ years of teaching and tutoring experience. He works hard, show respect to students, has detailed explanations when work with you. Also he is a sincere Christian who loves God. I would recommend him to anyone who has urgent need in math and science.
Alex is a terrific tutor. At our first meeting, he took the time to see what our son Connor was working on in his Math class and gained an understanding of where he was struggling. They meet every week and Alex helps Connor with concepts he didn't fully grasp in school. Connor is more confident when he works on his homework and when he takes quizzes and tests. On his last test, he received a perfect score. We would highly recommend Alex to any parent who has a child struggling in Math. Stuart and Karen
Excellent, Nishanth is knowledgeable and always willing to help. He is explaining the concepts really well. Its helping my confidence.
I'm not, and never have been, good at math, and having a sympathetic tutor is really important to me. Mark was patient and noticed when I didn't understand but didn't want to say anything. He was ready to explain things in several different ways until it clicked for me, and he never made me feel stupid! He clearly has an excellent grasp of the material (for me it was GRE math), and explained things conceptually, instead of just showing me steps or "tricks". I got the GRE math score I needed!
I had a very good experience working with Faisel. My ACT score came up 3 points, and more specifically my math score came up FIVE points! I was very please at how prepared I was when it came to test day. Meeting for tutoring was very convenient and times were fairly flexible. Overall, I was very happy with my experience with Faisel

I have volunteered at my parents' tutoring institution for the past few years. I have experience in teaching elementary English and math topics, as well as some middle school math. I am currently a rising senior at Washington University and have taken university-level English and math courses, but I specialize in tutoring grades around pre-K to 9th grade. I can also help with ACT/SAT prep for those who are preparing for college. I got a perfect score on my ACT English section as well as placed in the 99th percentile for math. I am especially good with kids and have a lot of patience to help them through their studies.
I was the supervisor of the largest community education center (Mullanphy) in St. Louis City (now retired). The youth attending the center were primarily 12 to 20 years old. We had a rule that in order to play basketball, you had to have three tutoring hours a week at the center, even if you were an honor student. I managed to get the honor students to tutor their peers if they were interested. I have been coaching students since 1985, from middle school through high school, as well as taught on the adjunct faculty of three community colleges. I like working with students, although my professional career was in business more than education. I have always got along well with youth and find it a worthwhile activity especially now that I am "semi-retired" and have more freedom with my schedule. You need to be consistent not gullible but respectful. What's easy for one person can be Greek to another. People learn differently, and the key is to find the key to each individual.
I have a degree in civil engineering. My areas of expertise include algebra, geometry, algebra 2, precalculus, calculus, ACT, physics, and chemistry. Having worked with students from many public and private schools, I am familiar with the math and science curricula of the schools in the St. Louis area. Recently, I went through training for one of the top ACT tutoring programs.
Welcome to Solve It! We are St. Louis’s Premier Math Tutoring and Math Competitions Training Center. If you are looking for the absolute highest quality of math homework help, test prep, or contest training, you’ve come to the right place! We offer all of our services both in person and online to help you master any subject in 7-12+ math. We provide math homework help, math test prep for the ACT, SAT, AP Calculus and Statistics and more, and training for competitions such as the AMCs and MATHCOUNTS. Many tutoring services claim to have "the best" tutors. Unfortunately, these tutors are usually nothing more than smart local college students/graduates who have no training, and little if any tutoring experience. This is NOT how we work at Solve It! We employ two types of tutors: 1. Highly skilled mathematicians and educators who, in addition to possessing excellent initial qualifications, had to pass Igor’s rigorous selection and training process. • Extensive prior math tutoring/teaching experience • Deep and comprehensive understanding of 7-12+ math • Completion of a 20-hour training program on all of the best practice teaching methods that Igor has spent 30,000+ hours refining • A teaching philosophy centered around the belief that the best way to learn math is to focus on deep intuitive understanding rather than memorization • A serious desire to work at Solve It! for years to come and help us make America's math education great again! 2. The very best of Igor’s own current and former students • Having spent years personally tutoring and training with Igor, each student has an intimate knowledge of Igor's best-practice teaching methods and an exceptionally deep understanding of secondary math. • Because of all the work they have completed with Igor, our tutors have all had perfect scores on their ACT/SAT math, SAT math subject tests, and AP Calculus BC, as well as passed the AMC 10 or 12. • They were top students in their school and usually among the top math students in their state. Each tutor has developed a deeper intuitive understanding of math than any of their peers, as well as the vast majority of high school math teachers. Each new student is carefully paired with the Solve It! tutor who will best match his or her needs, schedule, budget, and personality.
I provide one-on-one tutoring for middle school and high school students. Subjects tutored are pre-algebra, Algebra 1, integrated math, geometry, Algebra 2, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, and ACT math prep. I believe tutoring is like great coaching. The coach pulls out of what was already there but simply needed to be tapped. I am skilled at explaining things creatively and effectively in multiple ways.
Students that work with me are very confident in their ability after a few sessions. I take my time to explain the material on an individual basis, instead of instantly turning to the textbook's methods.
I'm a physician with experience in and a passion for education, tutoring youth and young adults in math, the sciences, and Hebrew.
