Turns out, the fan that we purchased did not fit the room. However, he did replace and install the brace and box that I had broken.

I rarely recommend people, but we hired Paul of LP Handyman and he did an amazing job! He is thorough, patient, reasonably-priced, and professional. We originally hired Paul to hang a ceiling fan and some other odds and ends. He helped find creative solutions to some unique issues. Paul is super personable and trustworthy--just an all-around good guy. We have hired him several times now and plan to hire him for all of our handyman needs.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am straightforward with my pricing. Sometimes it is by the hour (small job) and for larger jobs, customers are given a total price that includes materials. I don't have hidden fees. I think it is important for the customer to ask all their questions too.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will gather as much information about the project through text or conversation. Once I arrive, I will review the project with the customer and get to work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I purchased my first investment property in 2008. Many of my skills have come from wanting to save money and one way to do that is to learn to fix or install my own projects.
