A storm took a tree down in our backyard...halfway. It was a danger to our home, our fence & anyone who wanted to go outside. Mr. Lee came immediately - I am not exaggerating...he was at my home within the hour. He knows trees - 30 years of experience! We are having him come back to take care of others that need to be pruned or removed. He left our property clean & he neatly stacked wood we wanted to keep. He made sure the rest of the tree was at the curb - neatly so it could be picked up without being a mess for the city. He puts thought into everything he does. He gave us great advice to keep some of the wood bc it was a cherry tree - great for the grill! The price was great...he beats everyone by a mile. A side note, he can do anything...not just trees & painting...if you need something, just ask him...including cater a party with the best bbq you have ever eaten! His family is part of his business & they are all wonderful.

Although I didn't end up hiring any professionals for calligraphy via Thumbtack, as we decided to do something else...I couldn't help but think how ungrateful I would be if I didn't take the time to review J. Graham Lettering and Design. He was SO Professional and responsive. We spoke on the phone once and he was understanding of what I was wanted and helped paint a clear picture of what that would include. Although, I did not hire him, I follow his Instagram now just because he is so talented. His work is flawless. If I ever have needs in the future, I will 100% be reaching out to him. He is definitely the man for the job!!

I originally contacted final touch to paint a property that I was wanting to flip. They immediately responded and showed up on time. They were very personable and acted in a very professionally manner. They offered a fair price and did an incredible job with the work I had for them. I then asked them to paint my own house and was incredibly pleased with the clean and precise work they presented at the jobs completion. They installed a piece of Sheetrock in my kitchen and painted the area where the new Sheetrock was installed, blending it in as if it was never there! I highly recommend final touch!!!

Zach was a lifesaver when I needed one most! My original painter had made a huge mess and left without finishing or cleaning up the mess he made- I had a couple of people give me estimates and they were much too high for the budget I had left to work with. Zach not only worked with me on staying in my budget , he would use his own resources to try to help save money whenever he could. He went above and beyond a normal paint job by repairing and patching everything he felt needed attention and even relocated a light fixture to a new location on the ceiling without extra charge. And to top it all off, His friendly, outgoing nature helped turn this very stressful experience into a happy one-

The Job: Painting the walls and ceilings, as well as correcting the many problems that the previous painter had left behind before quitting half-way through the job! Mr. Tucker did an excellent job. He accompanied me to the paint shop at Home Depot and helped them match the paint used by the previous painter. He then completed the job he was hired to do-painting the walls and the ceilings. Next, he corrected the mess of the paint job that the previous painter had left behind. He went through the rest of the house and touched up the areas that needed attention. He then cleaned up nicely, not only his but the other painters' mess. He was always on time, responsive to phone calls and text messages, and polite and respectful. Hire him if you want some painting done right.

I've used "All About Home" twice now... And am more than satisfied with both jobs.. Last summer, I hired them to put wood flooring in my bedroom... And again just a few weeks ago to build shelves in my bathroom and paint my bathroom living room and kitchen.. These guys are both knowledgable and professional..and extremely helpful to me... And, most importantly, we stayed within my budget.. Thanks guys for the awesome work...

WT'S Construction renovated 2 of my bathrooms. Including demolish, added shower/ finished plumbing, lighting/electric work, ceramic flooring, cabinet installation with granite top, and painting completed. This renovation was neat and timely. What was promised, WT's Construction delivered. It's been 2 years since renovation was completed and the restrooms are being enjoyed and complimented in a 30+ year old home.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
