Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: While I am happy to come to your house, I have been a trainer for various businesses on the Coast. I once helped a client from a large company win a national competition with an outstanding PowerPoint presentation. Besides teaching reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and the Microsoft Office Suite, I have edited books, proofread manuals, and typed large projects for writers who needed a helping hand. I love the spark in the eye of someone who has just learned something new.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I diagrammed my first sentence in elementary school, and my love affair with English began. Within a year, I began writing simple DOS programs for my computer. The rest is history. I find that a strong understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite has gone hand-in-hand with my writing skills to create projects that are beyond professional.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most in-home computer tutorials include some sort of tutorial on the client's specific hardware issues (i.e. camera setup). I don't mind at all. Each job is unique.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for different things: education, experience, and natural ability. While I have a love for grammar and computers, that would not be enough to make me the right candidate to train others. Having a formal education in those areas should not be sufficient either. Experience as a trainer/educator should be a piece of the puzzle, but even experience isn't everything. The right trainer should have a mix of education, experience, and the ability to connect with YOU in a manner that makes her knowledge valuable on a personal level.
