Currently offering lessons on Bass Guitar, Upright Bass, Guitar, Music Theory, Recording/Production with Logic Pro and More. Bass Areas of Focus Include: Technique, Music Theory, Rhythm, Tone, Walking Bass, Harmony, Reading Music, Fretboard Knowledge, Using the Bow (Upright), Improvisation, Groove Playing, Soloing and more. Guitar Styles include Rock, Blues, Folk, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Reggae, and more. Lessons consist of a combination of learning proper technique and fundamentals in order to build a solid foundation on the instrument. I like to keep a balance in areas such as technique, scales, chords and arpeggios, groove playing, improvising, reading and playing in a variety of styles and genres. Timing and rhythm is essential for any great musician so I emphasize rhythm and help students build from there. My goal is to get students to become working players and to provide them with the tools needed to be well rounded with great overall musicianship.

Steve is a really great teacher! He takes into consideration what I want to learn and what my goals are. His lessons have a perfect balance between learning music theory and basic skills, and working on songs that I’ve always wanted to learn. I feel like I am making progress on the guitar and learning a lot from each lesson. Also, he is flexible with scheduling which has been really convenient for me! I highly recommend Steve as a teacher!

Steve's lessons offer a relaxed atmosphere and a flexible approach. He adapted his strategies to the things I was already doing and based the lessons on things I was interested in. Basic practice strategies and handwritten directions were provided at each lesson.

Steve has been working with my 9 year old grandson on drums for a while now and has kept him enthused and engaged with his lessons. He has made great progress and looks forward to his lessons each week. I would recommend him highly.

I like to talk with each student beforehand and hear where the student is at with their musicianship. I love hearing about a students goals, motivations, inspirations and favorite bands/players.

I've been fortunate to be able to study music and have lessons with some of the best teachers in the world. I've been teaching at local music schools since graduating from college and have taught at schools in the New York area and I’ve been teaching online now for several years.
