Introduction: My experience from attending Berklee along with years of teaching and performing has given me the perspective of both being a student and teacher in a wide variety of settings. I have taught individuals from all over the world via Skype, individuals face to face and groups of students. I believe every student is unique and requires attention. Knowing the history of a certain style of music is equally important as knowing how to play that music. Along with theory and technique I place a strong focus on history, repertoire stylistic idiosyncrasies. I enjoy sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for a shared passion with my students. Seeing results and improvement is rewarding for both me as a teacher and my students.

Nick is a true professional - he takes himself, his craft, his students, and his business seriously. I appreciate his quick e-mail responses and his thorough lesson reviews. He has a calculated approach to teaching that I know I will benefit from - stressing the importance of foundational technique and posture. He's friendly and cheerful but stays on topic. As a young woman, going to a stranger's home for a lesson can make for some uncomfortable situations, but Nick's space feels very safe and he conducts himself with the utmost professionalism and grace. Highly recommend!

Nick has an excellent approach to teaching guitar to students of any level. He came prepared to our session with a complete lesson plan based off of the core elements of the guitar and quickly adapted each exercise to my level. Extremely attentive and helpful, Nick's style of teaching is all encompassing in that he teaches you not only technique and theory, but also how to practice it effectively and how to apply it in everyday settings.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The first lesson is free. I charge $50 for an hour lesson which includes an audio and/or video recording of our lesson along with a review email and any documents or transcriptions related to the lesson. I offer a package deal of 4 lesson in a month for $170.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first lesson is at no charge. It is a chance for us to get to know each other, determine the student's desires and goals, and evaluate strengths and weaknesses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music.
