Introduction: My goals for my students are as followed:
- Improving tone and developing a strong two and a half octave range.
- Finding a voice in a blues and jazz context.
-Improving reading skills with a collection of classical and jazz.
Depending on your particular interests, I can also help connect ideas from other instruments such as gutair, piano, or voice. My aim is to offer a practical approach to studying scales and arpeggios, which will, in turn, make reading and improvising much more comfortable. As part of the lesson plan, I would like to provide listening material, sheet music, and backing tracks to help energize your independent learning.
A little bit about myself. My name is Kayvon Kazemini. I'm a senior at UNC Asheville; I am pursuing a degree in jazz studies and saxophone performance. I have experience playing with the UNCA Big Band and Wind Ensemble, as well as sitting in with the Asheville Jazz Orchestra.
My rate is $30 for a 1 hour lesson at either my rehearsal space in North Asheville, or at your home (at no extra cost). $15 for half hour lessons.
I really enjoy teaching and would like to welcome you to learn the sax.
